HARASOV: A FORGOTTEN CHARM WITH THE SPIRIT OF TIMES GONE BY

Tentokrát jsem se vydal kousek za Prahu – konkrétně do obce Harasov na Kokořínsku. Je to místo, které možná na mapě snadno přehlédnete, ale o to víc vás může překvapit svojí atmosférou. Při procházce kolem rybníka a bývalého letoviska jsem měl chvílemi pocit, jako bych se ocitl ve scéně z Hříšného tance. Ano, i tady najdete ten jemný nádech nostalgie, starých časů a příběhů, které už možná trochu zapadly prachem, ale pořád dokážou chytnout za srdce.

This time, I headed just outside of Prague – to the village of Harasov in the Kokořínsko region. It's the kind of place you might easily overlook on a map, but once you're there, it might surprise you with its quiet, nostalgic charm. As I walked around the pond and the remnants of what used to be a popular resort, I couldn't help but feel like I'd stepped into a scene from Dirty Dancing. Yes, even here you can sense that gentle hint of nostalgia, stories from long ago, and an atmosphere that may be a little dusty, but still has the power to touch your heart.

Letovisko Harasov má historii sahající až do 19. století. Dříve tu býval hotel, restaurace, koupaliště a Harasov patřil k oblíbeným výletním cílům Pražanů. Dnes už je celý areál trochu zašlý, ale to neznamená, že ztratil své kouzlo – spíš naopak. Právě ta patina času mu dodává zvláštní atmosféru, díky které se vám tu možná bude zdát, že jste se na chvíli ocitli úplně jinde.

The Harasov resort has a history dating back to the 19th century. It once featured a hotel, a restaurant, a bathing area – and was a beloved getaway for people from Prague. Today, the entire site is a bit worn out, but that doesn't mean it's lost its charm. On the contrary – that layer of time has given it a special atmosphere that makes you feel like you've been transported to another era, even if just for a while.

Zkuste si udělat krátkou procházku kolem rybníka. Internet možná říká, že je vhodná i pro vozíčkáře a kočárky – ale z vlastní zkušenosti musím říct, že realita je trochu jiná. Terén je místy nerovný a s kočárkem by to rozhodně nebyla úplně pohodová procházka. Pokud ale hledáte klidné místo na zastavení, Harasov vás může příjemně překvapit.

Take a short walk around the pond. The internet might claim the path is suitable for strollers or wheelchairs – but based on my experience, that's not entirely accurate. The terrain is uneven in places, and it wouldn't be a comfortable walk with a stroller. Still, if you're looking for a peaceful spot to pause and breathe, Harasov might pleasantly surprise you.

A když už tudy pojedete, určitě doporučuji udělat si zastávku i v Mělníku. Historické centrum má svoji osobitou atmosféru a výhled na soutok Labe a Vltavy je jeden z těch, které stojí za to vidět na vlastní oči. Mimochodem – taky jste si doteď nebyli jistí, kde se ten "pravý" soutok vlastně nachází? Nejste sami. Já jsem to taky musel nejdřív vygooglit.

And if you're in the area, I highly recommend making a stop in Mělník. The historic town center has its own unique charm, and the view of the confluence of the Elbe and Vltava rivers is one of those scenes you just have to see for yourself. By the way – have you ever wondered where the real confluence actually is? I wasn't sure either. Yep, I had to google it.

Celý tenhle výlet je důkazem toho, že i blízko domova se dají zažít momenty, které vás přenesou jinam. A právě o tom je Toulavě – o radosti z objevování, o volnosti a o chvílích, které nemusí stát tisíce, ale zůstanou s vámi dlouho.

This whole trip is a reminder that you don't have to travel far to experience moments that transport you somewhere new. And that's what Toulavě is all about – the joy of discovery, a sense of freedom, and those simple, lasting moments that don't cost a fortune, but stay with you for a long time.
